50 things to do before you’re 11¾.

Whatever the weather, there’ll be plenty of family fun on offer during February half-term at places we look after. Go in search of wild flowers and bugs or collect shells and stones to create wild art. Whatever you choose, you’re sure to have a great day out.

Does it feel like ages since you explored the great outdoors?

Well guess what, the feeling’s mutual. Nature misses you. But don’t despair – now’s the perfect time to do something about it.

Come & Revitalise Your Inner Child @Middle Coombe Farm Devon Holiday Let #theplacetobe

When you are searching for a short break to escape it all, it is hard to find a Holiday let with both the perfect environment for rest & relaxation and plenty to do within half-an-hour of the venue to satisfy any cultural or activity drive you may have.

Holiday Lets come in all shapes & sizes but for most of us it all comes down to three things. Can I find somewhere big & beautiful enough for all my family & friends to get together? what facilities does the venue have? & what is there to do locally?

Middle Coombe Farm is superbly positioned to offer it all. The thatched farmhouse dates from 1537 and is constantly & lovingly restored and improved to provide very special 4 star accommodation in one of the most diverse parts of Devon. The exclusive rustic estate covers 400 acres with over 200 acres of woodland to explore. We have an outdoor hot tub which is open all year & a stunning large solar heated outdoor swimming pool set in estate gardens. We have huge numbers of activities accessible within half-an-hour drive and we are a stunning venue with an amazing amount to offer our guests.

The historic buildings have a character of their own and with gentle restoration and exacting standards we are thrilled to have been awarded 4 stars for our accommodation by Enjoy England. This is a real celebration for us, and a wonderful validation of our work here.

Organising Your Dream Wedding at Middle Coombe Farm

Organising Your Dream Wedding at Middle Coombe Farm

I was very fortunate to get married here in September 2005 before Middle Coombe Farm was officially a venue. Tim and Angela Malyon were acquaintances but not yet firm friends and when we very cheekily asked if we might have a hundred or so people to the event at their family home, they said ‘yes’. The kindness and excitement extended towards my future husband and myself was unparalleled and a few years later, still smitten with the place, I joined the team and have become part of fabric of Middle Coombe Farm.

This passion for sharing their incredible home and their beliefs is infectious and completely genuine. Middle Coombe Farm has been hosting weddings for over seven years now. We are fortunate to be surrounded by 400 acres of sustainably farm and woodland incorporating a stunning thatched cider barn and a woodlands ceremonial site. This is a venue that facilitates your wedding. We are chosen by couples seeking to create something really unique and different for their union.

March – May update

A lot has happened since our last update…

Tintin, our border collie, unfortunately wasn’t happy here with us and went back to the Blue Cross, he gave it a good go, but he developed a fear of horses and cats; Since then he has been re-homed with his brother.

We’ve had our 1st two weddings of the year.

The wet windy weather has blown down several trees in our woods and…

… we’ve started preparing the play area for the coming brighter, warmer and drier weather, ready for the children and young-at-heart adults.

Our 1st wedding, back in April evolved around a bird theme; in keeping with this Georgina and Philip hired some birds to attend their wedding. They weren’t the usual pigeon, swallow type of bird but very special ones from the Haven Falconry. One of these birds, the Barn Owl, was entrusted to be the ring bearer…
